As the new variant of coronavirus surges, The Biden administration has decided to restrict travelers from South Africa and six other African countries(Botswana, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Lesotho, Eswatini, Mozambique, and Malawi). This travel ban, however, will not apply to us citizens. The World Health Organization has recently detected the new variant labeled as Omicron to be dangerous and easily spreadable. United States officials know that the travel ban will not stop the variant from coming, but it will most likely slow it down.
