The Taliban have appointed 44 people for various crucial roles in their government. This is the first large-scale government appointment the Taliban have had since taking over Kabul on August 15. Qari Baryal has been appointed as governor of Kabul and is now at the head of the uphill battle the Taliban have to face to restore the capital's security and plummeting economy. Other nations have suggested the Taliban include minorities and women in their government but there has been no progress made on that front. This could be an eye-opener for Kabul residents that the Taliban could be here to stay and their current oppressive laws could become their way of life.
