Sierra Leone seizes drugs from Ecuador in nappies

From this article, I could understand the route of the drugs such as cocaine to Sierra Leone. According to this article, Latin American drug cartels use West Africa as a transit point to smuggle narcotics to Europe. They take advantage of the region’s poverty and weak border controls. When I researched the civil war of Sierra Leone and knew that they were using a ton of cocaine to brainwash the child soldiers, I wondered why they could get the drugs such as marijuana and cocaine. In the last week’s blog entry, I discovered that Sierra Leone is a place where marijuana grows up very easily because of its climate, but cocaine had come from other countries. This article was written in 2011, and at this point, I can see that they still have weak border controls. It would have been much worse during the war. Sierra Leone differs from the other countries because many people know the risk of drugs, but also, they know how much better they feel to use drugs. Therefore, we have to crack down even harder on drugs in this country, but in the reality, their security is loose and drugs are coming in so easily, so it’s very dangerous.
