US defends air strikes that killed civilians in Syria

On March 18, 2019, the US carried out a bombing on Islamic State fighters. A total of 3 bombs were dropped, killing 80 people. Of these 80 people, there were at least 4 civilians but it is very likely there were more. The three bombs were dropped on a group of people, despite drone footage showing a large population of civilians. Cpt Bil Urban defended the strikes, saying it was only after the strikes that they became aware of the civilian presence. However, the drone captured some of these civilians with weapons. Including women and children carrying weapons. After an investigation by US Central Command, the strikes were deemed as self-defense strikes, justifying the civilians being killed.
