Danny Fenster is an American journalist from Detroit Michigan, who has been in prison since his arrest on May 24. He is being held under three different charges of which are: "visa breaches, unlawful association with an illegal group, and incitement under section 505a of Myanmar's Penal Code." The code makes it illegal to spread comments that would cause fear and false news in Myanmar. His lawyer released two more charges he is up against which would result in a life in prison sentence. Unfortunately, Fenster is only one of roughly 126 journalists being held in Myanmar. Fenster worked for Frontier Myanmar, a news outlet in Myanmar, which released a statement relating their disappointment in the sentencing. Numerous others commented their disbelief in this unjust act. Many believe Fenster, and the other journalists, to be innocent.
