Argentina Will Stick to IMF Targets to Reduce Budget Deficit

Ryan Dube reporter from the "Wall Street Journal", wrote an article on September 12 of this year called "Argentina Will Stick to IMF Targets to Reduce Budget Deficit." In this article, the reporter talks about how the Argentinian government decided to stick with the IMF targets to reduce the budget deficit. The increase in inflation pushed the government to stick with the International Monetary Fund targets to reduce the budget deficit. Further, Economy Minister Sergio Massa will remain to the IMF targets not only because of inflation but to get fiscal stability, increase the bank reserves and boost exports. Argentina also agreed to reduce the central bank financing of the treasury to avoid more inflation this year. Finally, the IMF and Argentina reached a deal as the global food and energy crisis surged because of the war in Ukraine, making it more expensive for Argentina to import energy during the winter.
