Largescale Mudslide Hits Japan - Megan Lemley

Typhoon Nanmadol made devastating landfall on Sunday morning, and continues to wreak havoc on the residents of Kyushu, and soon Japan's main island, Honshu. This typhoon has taken two lives and left at least ninety others injured, according to BBC news. Three hundred and fifty thousand homes have been left without power; buildings, businesses, and homes have also been destroyed due to the large mudslide and flooding that is unrelenting. Shockingly, forecasts are predicting up to sixteen inches of rain over the next twenty-four hours, along with powerful winds that have reached up to one hundred and forty-five miles per hour.
