On Thursday night a group of about 50 immigrants from Venezuela were flown to Martha's Vineyard from the state of Florida. The cost of all the transportation was paid for by the Florida governor. All they were told before getting onto the plane was that they were being flown to Mass. and there would be housing and jobs for them. Upon arriving they knew this wasn't true no on in Martha's vineyard knew that they were coming and are currently being housed in a church with the help of the salvation army to provide clothes and food.
The rise in immigrants is partly due to an immigration act President Biden initiated. There was also another instance where immigrants were sent to VP Harris house in DC. This could be to protest the new act. It has been a rising problem all over the nation with immigrants from Venezuela, Cuba and other countries.
