Nicholas Bariyo reporter from the "Wall Street Journal", wrote an article on September 20 of this year called "Outbreak of Rare Ebola Strain Declared in Uganda." In this article, the reporter talks about how Uganda declared an outbreak of a rare strain of Ebola after a 24-year man died from the disease. This new strain of Ebola is called the Sudan strain which has not been detected in the country in over 10 years. It will be difficult for the country to control the new strain since the existing vaccines are unlikely to provide fast protection against the disease. It is unknown how the man got infected; however, scientists believe Ebola was first transmitted to humans by animals. Nevertheless, in recent years Ebola is being transmitted by Ebola survivors through sexual intercourse. Finally, Uganda is no stranger to Ebola outbreaks, so they have the expertise to detect the strain and halt the spread of infections.
