“Hurricane Fiona makes landfall on Puerto Rico, knocking out power to island”

Today, hurricane Fiona hit Puerto Rico, hurting the island with a category 1 storm.  They were left without power, and with fatal flash floods and mudslides.  President Biden has declared a state of emergency, meaning that the government should start helping with disaster relief.  This is interesting to look at, because so much other stuff is going on in the world, that it feels like this didn’t really make the news.  I wonder if the fact that it has been declared a national emergency will fix this, but I doubt it because it seems all America wants to focus on is the racist British empire’s news.  Another thing I found intriguing was the connection that this probably has to climate change and the climate crisis.  Now that more and more natural disasters are happening, hopefully leaders and policy makers will start to take action, as they realize that our world and economy cannot withstand hurricane after hurricane.
