Mid-Autumn Festival Celebrated September 10, 2022

In China, a yearly tradition is the Mid-Autumn Festival. It is also sometimes called the Moon Festival or the Mooncake Festival. After Chinese New Year, it is the most important festival celebrated in China, as well as in other Asian countries such as Singapore, Malaysia, and the Philippines.

The festival is a celebration of the rice harvest, and ceremonies take place to give offerings to the moon in thanks for the harvest and to encourage a plentiful harvest in the coming year. It is a time for families to gather together and participate in ceremonies, eat good food, light and release paper lanterns, and more.

This year, the festival takes place on Saturday September 10, 2022.
