"Israel Makes Final Push to Shape Restored Iran Nuclear Deal".-

In this article published September 4th, 2022 on the Wall Street Journal, author Dov Lieber explains how Israel is attempting to shape a new Iran Nuclear Deal, pushing for no concessions to Tehran in order to make sure Iran does not develop further nuclear capabilities. I thought this article was interesting because it ties in with what we learned about the behavior of countries. In this case, cooperation is being blocked dues to Israel's concerns about national security in light of a new deal with Iran. Israel refuses to accept the 2015 nuclear deal once again because they believe it is too lenient with Iran now that the country's nuclear capabilities have improved. Israel would like to 'permanently curtail Iran's nuclear program'. Iran has repeatedly told the United States to not let Israel make a potential deal more 'difficult' than it had to be. Israel also is careful about how far it wants to push the deal in its favor to avoid straining the 'special relationship' it has with the United States. I believe this particular back and forth and struggle of national interests demonstrates the power struggles we are discussing and also an instance of how cooperation is being attempted in today's modern world.
