In Homs the third largest city in Syria are stirring up protest. Not just your average American protest but where armed protesters who are calling for war. After several peaceful protesters are being assassinated by the dictatorship of Syria. Revolutionaries have been engaging in gun battles every few hours. Weapons are all over the city of Homs with assassinations being carried out and rifles that cost $2,000 in the hands of the protesters. Homs is a city full of youth who started out as peaceful uprising but has quickly turned into a violent situation. The youth in Homs are very determined to push for civil war in Syria. Syria has been under a four decade dictatorship. Men in parts of the city are openly carrying weapons protecting themselves from the government security who have been arresting peaceful protesters. But sure enough peaceful protesting was just getting them thrown into prison. So the game has changed into a bloody violent protest on the rise. Activist who are fighting against the dictatorship are being assassinated moving toward out right murder of many the Homs protesters.
Young and educated people with great respect are being killed for speaking out and protesting against the dictatorship of Syria. "Perhaps the most dramatic facet of the struggle is a series of assassinations this past week that have left nearly a dozen professors, doctors and informers dead in a paroxysm of violence that echoes the sectarian vendettas still besetting Iraq" (Shadid NYtmes).
