Lights out: Another threat to a fragile country’s stability

Pakistan faces another stressful situation; as shortage of energy and electricity hits numerous cities, revolts start rising in number throughout Pakistan. The people are clearly angry for in some regions, power has been out for 20+ hours (taking into consideration how hot it still is in the country).

Zardari's government has done very little to help cope with this crisis, instead, they have been squandering money on alleged crony matters. This energy crisis has created a barrier for much of Pakistan's economy since many of the plants had to shut down for parts of the week. It dampens the soul of the people witnessing such a crisis and their government just not responding.

The debt is increasing in the state and the Pakistanis are trying to find means out. They are embarking on a new 12 billion dam project, hoping it will bring much resolution. However, till the government faces the insufficiency that attacks Pakistani society, the riots will be never-ending.
