The article that I read basically covered if we are going to be able to handle a new "ebola" epidemic. It starts off with explaining the different kind of major global epidemics that have been going on and dealt with throughout different periods of time, leading up to the most recent, ebola. Due to easy spreading and contact of these major viruses through different insects, and human contact, there will be more outbreaks and epidemics to come in the near future and throughout time. This leads us to the question, are we ready for another epidemic? The article then moves on to talk about early warning of the virus covering factors of where you can find out information about what is happening, and previous viruses and epidemics that have come to our attention. Then it leads into the planning and preparation of how we as people are going to be able to get completely ready if and when it is to come to our attention. The article states that even though we might not be ready for such a big global epidemic right now, we are at least more ready than ever before. I completely agree with this over previous knowledge of these epidemics that have happened in the past, and how our system as humans work to deal with major things coming up such as another global epidemic.
