In response to the Jordanian pilot that was captured and brutally killed by terrorist-group ISIL, Jordan's King Abdullah ordered the executions of two imprisoned terrorists. The pilot was First Lt. Moaz al-Kasabeh, who was captured while on a mission against the terrorist group ISIL in early January. ISIL demanded the release of their member Sajida al-Rishawi, who was a part of the group of bombers who attacked a Jordanian hotel in 2005. ISIL also negoitated the release of Sajida with the captured Japanese journalist Kenji Goto, who was later beheaded last week. Although ISIL stated that Moaz was alive last week, the video that showed Moaz being burned alive in a cage was actually created in early January. Twelve hours after the video was released, King Abdullah ordered the executions of Sajida and former high Lt. of Al Qaeda in Iraq: Ziad Karbouli. These executions were greeted with extreme enthusiasum by the Jordanian people. Although some critics are arguing that the king will now use this tragic event to bring Jordan into a war on terror that her people do not wish to fight. Some critics go as far as to say that the King Abdullah is taking orders from America to join this fight against terrorist organizations like ISIL. Only time will tell what King Abdullah will do in future responses to terrorists strikes against Jordan, and if their country will be dragged into the conflicts of the Middle East.
