North Korea

A dry winter for North Korea points at future problems for the struggling country. With less precipitation during the winter months in North Korea, many predict that the "cereal bowl" provinces like Pyongyang or Hwanghae won't yield as many important crops as before. These crops include wheat and barley and without them, North Korea will have an especially hard time making it thru into the summer season. Winter crops like these make up only about 5 percent of their domestic food supply but because these crops are usually harvested at such an important time they are very important.
