Hunger in China

Population and hunger, a lot of the time, grow side by side especially with impoverished countries and China is no exception. With a steadily growing population and an increased urban sprawl, China might have issues feeding its people. An airport is said to be finished by 2018 and what this airport does is decimate land that is currently used for growing crops like cabbage, corn, and wheat. Furthermore, it is said that this massive airport will consume about rural farming villages. According the the UN's food and agriculture organization, "China must feed a fifth of the world's population with about 7% of its arable land." They go on to explain that about half of that land has be degraded by unchecked development. What is happening is that China is growing to fast and too steadily and in doing so losing more and more of their valuable farm land. Although it is not as serious a problem as in North Korea, the future looks very "interesting" for the Chinese.
