During the four-year civil conflict, UN figures show that 220,000 people have been killed. So since 2011, UN's Commission investigators have investigated and created five lists of names of alleged war criminals. Every list has 30-40 names of criminals. Both the Syrian government and the main islamist militant groups have committed atrocities which lead to countless death toll of innocent people. Four lists were turned in to the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights and the last one will be passed to them in March.
