Bolivian President Evo Morales resigns amid fraud poll protests

Bolivian President Evo Morales resigns amid election fraud. On October 20, “international monitors” demanded the election be annulled because there were clear manipulations found in the polls. Morales agreed and his fellow politicians as well as the military urged him to resign.

As a result of the clear poll manipulation, many Bolivian citizens took to the streets to demonstrate their dissatisfaction with the fraud. There were many anti- government protests occurring. Morales agreed to resign and urged Bolivian citizens to stop hurting each other. Once his resign was made clear, citizens took to the streets once again and chanted “yes we could”. Three protestors died and some police officers joined the protestors and showed their support.
