After months of protests, Hong Kong protestors have vandalized
the Hong Kong office of China’s official Xinhua News Agency. Protestors
smashed windows and started a fire in the lobby. It is unknown if
people were in the building.
Xinhua
News Agency is not the only company that has been targeted. Several protestors have been targeting businesses connected to mainland China.
Earlier on November 2nd, police fired tear gas at some protestors who threw gasoline bombs.
With
chanting pro-democratic slogans and defying the police, Hong Kong
citizens are demanding autonomy, just how England promised the city in
1997.
