Iraq protests death toll rises to 319 with nearly 15,000 injured
Bloody protests continue across southern Iraq as security forces and unknowns fire into crowds. The protests, which have been ongoing since October, call for an end to corruption, an improvement of social services, and unemployment.
The protests are seen as the biggest since the fall of Saddam Hussein, and include both Sunni and Shi'a Muslims, cutting through the sectarian divide of Iraq.
