Hong Kong Police Shoots an Antigovernment Demonstrator - Sierra Perez

During an antigovernment protest in Hong Kong tensions began to rise especially after a student had recently passed away in these protests. On Monday morning an officer shot several shots toward two "black0-clad" protestors in a neighborhood filled with multiple roadblocks. There has been video footage showing the protesters hitting the ground after being hit and still being couscous afterwards. After hitting the protestor the officer then tackles him while urging the other protestors to stop threatening public safety as others screamed for an ambulance. The roadblocks were the protestors way of peaceful protest it was said their aim was to "paralyze services to express their anger over the death of a student last week from a fall at a parking garage near by" (YU, Wong, Ives). This shows how high tensions really are in Hong Kong to fight back against the government and how the police force are impulsively firing their weapons resulting in two deaths recently.
