From Melissa Leon of Fox News
The war between Russia and Ukraine is pretty intense. I haven't heard about it in the news as much lately but it's still been going on. It is no longer as intense as it was back in 2014, around the time it began. Russia did annex Crimea in a very controversial move. There has still been more conflict in the region but there are several factions involved and the whole thing has become kind of complex. But the good news is that in the area of Donbass, troops from both sides are beginning to pull out of the region. There has been some trouble as there have apparently been some ceasefire breaches but for the most part some of the territories has experienced some peace.
I don't really know how much this means as far as whether or not the war is ending anytime soon but at least some lives will be saved by a mutual retreat. If the fighting can be stopped, even breifly, might as well, it probably can't hurt. There has been like 13000 people killed in the conflict so far as well as millions displaced. I forgot why Russia decided to invade but at this point what is really worth all those lives? Maybe something, I don't know. I really would be interested in sort of philosophy of war class.
