Boko Haram threat warning ahead of summit

The BBC reports that the militant group Boko Haram remains a threat, President Francois Hollande has warned ahead of a summit in Nigeria's capital, Abuja.  The Islamist group has killed about 20,000 people in the past 7 years in Nigeria and neighboring countries, and more than 2 million people have been displaced from their homes.  The group has been attacking civilian targets as the Nigerian military seeks to wrest territory from their control, and they established links with ISIS in 2015.  President Buhari of Nigeria is welcoming counterparts from Benin, Cameroon, Chad, and Niger for the gathering, along with the French President, the UK foreign secretary and the US deputy secretary of state.
