A group senior United States intelligence officials spoke to the Washington Post on the condition of anonymity warning of a possible economic collapse of Venezuela. This comes after Venezuelan president Nicolas Maduro declared a Sate of emergency and series of clashes between looters and police as well protest demanding Maduro to step down. Some of the intelligence officials have predicted of a possible coup within the government or military to oust the president if the crisis continues.
