Spanish journalists Antonio Pampliega, Jose Manuel Lopez and Angel Sastre were released from Syria after the trio went missing on July 12 of 2015. They each have reported in Syria before and were in the country again to cover the war. Turkey, along with Qatar and others, helped to free the men. Whether ransom needed to be paid for their release is currently unknown; they are safe and that's all that matters for now. Unfortunately, they are not the only journalists that have been captured by Syrian extremists; 3 other Spanish journalists were released back home in March of this year.
