Leftist Leaders Leap to Defense of Ousted Brazilian President

Several fellow South American leftist governments have released statements defending Rousseff as the only legitimate leader of Brazil. Venezuela called the impeachment vote a coup and called upon the world to defend Rousseff and democracy. Chile has stated that they are concerned about their future relations with Brazil. Chile says they have had wonderful relations with Rousseff and rely on Brazil's democracy as an example for their own internal affairs. Colombia says that Brazil's stability is vital due to its large amount of influence. Colombia also stated they want to see democratic integrity in Brazil. Bolivia also suggested that the current situation in Brazil is a political coup and expressed their desire to have Rousseff remain as president. However, Argentina says they respect the impeachment process and believe that the result will strengthen Brazil's democracy.
