Iraqi Military Starts to Retake Fallujah From Islamic State

The Iraqi Prime Minister addressed the country announcing that troops were moving to Fallujah to retake the city from ISIS militants. The government has been broadcasting warnings to the residents of Fallujah telling them to leave the city or, if they are unable to leave, hang a white flag or sheet on their house. The government asked for the full cooperation of the residents and has already lined troops and tanks up on the outskirts of the city to help civilians evacuate before the fighting begins. Recently, the Iraqi forces have made significant progress against ISIS, but has also seen a large increase in suicide bombings. With the assistance of the US-led coalition and tribal militias, Iraqi forces retook the town of Rutbah, which connects Syria and Jordan with a major road. The military is also seeing the effects of their victories in the enemies' actions. There was almost no resistance in the recapture of Rutbah because a majority of ISIS fighters fled to avoid the battle.
