Fort McMurray Fire

Earlier in the week there was a massive wildfire in the city of Fort McMurray in Alberta, Canada. On Thursday hundreds of people had to be evacuated from the city and from surrounding areas due to the fire torching 320 square miles. Many officials have said that it can not be determined as of yet when these families will be able to return because of the extensive damage the fire caused. As of now, the cause of the fire is unknown. However, the mixing of extreme temperatures and dry conditions they had this week probably didn't help the matter. Data from yesterday (Friday) morning suggests that around 1,600 structures were destroyed; 88,000 people have been evacuated; and luckily no fatalities yet. Unfortunately for these citizens and for Alberta, at least 49 other wildfires have currently been burning there. This causes a tremendous problem since all of these people are without homes and other daily necessities; therefore, the city of Alberta has been surviving mostly on generous help from other Canadian cities and Americans.
