In January, there were pictures of poorly treated citizens of Syria. This is the result of the bombing attempts in the civil war. There have been temporary ceasefires, but the leader, Bashar al Assad, has broken all of them to give himself the upper hand. Although this is true recently members of the UN met with Assad supporters and it looks like hopefully peace negotiations are near. This article really stuck out to me because it started off talking about how badly some of the people in the country are living and the leader doesn't seem to be doing much about it!
