North Korea Claims Successful Long-Range Rocket Engine Test

North Korea claims that they have recently created a successful engine for an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM). North Korea says that with this new engine, they will be able to strike the US and South Korea with greater strength. South Korea says that North Korea still does not have a reliable rocket nor the ability to arm a rocket with a nuclear warhead. North Korea is also threatening preemptive strikes on Washington, D.C. and Seoul, South Korea in response to an increase of joint US and South Korean military exercises as well as increased sanctions from the United Nations
