Quake kills 262 along devastated Ecuador coast

One of the biggest earthquakes that has occurred in Ecuador in the last couple of decades resulted in nearly 2500 injures and around 262 deaths. The 7.8 magnitude earthquake reached as far as the city of Quito, destroying buildings, bridges, and roads. The area that was hit the hardest by the earthquake was in Pedernales. Many of the deaths were a result of buildings collapsing with people inside. Many homes were also destroyed. Ecuador's largest city of Guayaquil was also affected by the earthquake. Streets there were reduced to rubble and bridges collapsed. Because of the earthquake, numerous countries near Ecuador have been sending supplies and aid  to the victims of the earthquake.
