Cold War II?

William J. Broad and David E. Sanger discuss in one New York Times article the possible consequences to come from the weapons programs currently being pursued by the United States, China, and Russia. They express a bit of reasonable concern as to how the actions of all three countries is starting to mirror a cold war-esque arms race. All three countries appear to be fighting to best the other in terms of weapon technology and as we have seen in the past this could very well lead to a dangerous situation. If nothing else this is a testament to the growing tension between Russia and the United States in particular. It seems that the situation is starting to take on the attributes of the Cold War in more ways than just one.
