The hajj prilgrimage is an important obligation in Islam for Muslims to perform in their lifetime. This annual event is hosted by Saudi Arabia, where last years event resulted in at least 769 deaths in a human crushing due to large stampeding crowds in narrow camp alleys. Iran has reached out to Saudi Arabia, offering a delegation to discuss arrangements for Iranians to attend this year's pilgrimage and receive compensation for the relatives of the 461 Iranians who died in last year's mishap. The delegation plans to arrive April 14th to resolve the contradictions of Saudi intentions, regarding admitting Iranian pilgrims to this years events. Saudi officials have not publically addressed the proposed visit.
