Kerry aims to ease crisis over Afghan unity pact during Kabul visit
Secretary of State John kerry made a surprise visit to Afghanistan today, to meet with Afghan president Ashraf Ghani.
During the meeting both the secretary of state and president discussed a variety of issues including the scale down of Us and NATO troops and power sharing agreement, also know as the National Unity Government Agreement, between president Ghani and his chief executive Abdullah Abdullah. Although the the agreement is suppose to end in September 2016, The agreement itself does not have a specific end date, meaning at the most, it can end in 5 years at the end of president Ghani term as president of Afghanistan or a new agreement could be made. Regardless of the outcome, The Secretary of State, assured the Afghan Goverment movement will have US and NATO support. NATO plans on netting in July 2016 in Warsaw, to discuss funding of the Afghan security forces.
