Dilma Roussef is Impeached

Brazil's legislators voted on Sunday night to impeach Brazil's first female President, Dilma Roussef, due to corruption and other factors such as spreading disillusionment and causing the economy to shrink. The lower house of congress debated for three days before sending the case to impeach Roussef to the senate. Out of 513 deputies in the lower house, 342 voted in favor for impeachment. Roussef will have to step down from office if the senate accepts the case. There is some concern though that impeaching Roussef could be damaging to Brazil's democracy.
