In regard to the United States. Chinese President Xi Jinping proposed cuts to automobile tariffs and improvements to intellectual property rights protections at a business conference this Tuesday. Many feel that these were overtures indicating an end to the trade dispute between the two nations, which has become increasingly hostile in recent weeks. The rivalry between these two nations has lead to fear and uncertainty for the global marketplace, and economists predict set backs in global economic recovery should it continue. Though no formal negotiation is in progress, President Xi’s speech may be an important development.
