Over the several months, Japan and South Korea have been in disputes regarding trading affairs. According to the panel report on 4/14, WTO ruled that South Korea's claim over the unfair exports of pneumatic transmission valves from Japan failed to produce the sufficient information for the proof. At the result, Japan's initiative––the anti-dumping duties South Korea is imposing over the imports––is likely to be supported by WTO. The whole series of circulations first took place when South Korea began raising its tariff by nearly 10% on the Japan-made valves for its unfair trading claim, with the estimated lost valued of 650 million dollars since 2015. The significance of this dispute between the two is representing the recent anti-Japanese sentiment propagated by the new President Moon Jae-in. Many commentators observe that he as a conservative side is taking advantage of this raging movement to lead the attention of public as well as so-called "North-friendly" organizations to Japan and keep their eyes away from the neighboring North Korea. Otherwise, the public will keep questioning why their leader is not taking a hard-line against the troublesome behaviors of the North and he does not want to collide with the counterpart for caring its own nation's prosperity. In other words, Japan will keep being used as an excuse by Koreans for not facing the real threats.
