Tough new sanctions that were imposed on North Korea to get North Korea to give up their nuclear weapons has started to hurt North Korea. Factories have begun to shut down in North Korea, because of a lack of raw materials. Gas vehicles are being abandoned with no gas getting into the country. Even with all the shortages the, exchange rates are still stable, consumer prices are still stable, and there are no signs of any approaching famines. President Trump and South Korea’s president Moon Jae-In have said that these policies that have maximized pressure on the North Koreans have brought them to the negotiation table. But, they have not gotten the results they wanted yet.
