Sen. Kennedy: We can't let Syria gas attack 'go unanswered'

Louisiana Republican Senator John Kennedy has commented on the chemical weapons used in
Syria by President Bashar Assad on a rebel town. This event, which killed more than a dozen
civilians, is getting a lot of negative feedback from the United States. In particular, Senator Kennedy
said, ‘We can't let it go unanswered. If we do, our friends won't trust us and our enemies won't
respect us.’

Sen. Kennedy plans on reaching out to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY). Sen.
Kennedy wants Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis to consider intervention in Syria. Sen. Kennedy
does not feel that this action or discussion thereof should be ‘adversarial’.
