London Mayor Sadiq Khan announced a tough crackdown on knives Sunday as the city experiences number of homicides using knives and threatening citizens. The number of homicides led to top New York City's for two straight months. Khan tweeted: "No excuses: there is never a reason to carry a knife. Anyone who does will be caught, and they will feel the full force of the law." It also included the action plan to boost police power and prevent the knives' user. London has seen more than 50 homicides already in 2018 and most of it are using knives, not guns, due to the strict restriction on gun uses. This number of homicides are already more than what New York City has experienced in 2018 and mayor is feeling the need of stoping the use of knives and utilize the power of police to stop those violences. They will expand law enforcement "stop - and - search" powers in order for police to check people who might be a threat to the community using knives and acid. Khan was also calling on family members and friends of people carrying knives to help and stop the people who might be a threat to the community.
