Karen DeYoung and Shane Harris discuss how Trump has decided to have the troops leave Syria ASAP because he wants the Arab allies to take control. Trump wants them to pay for the stabilizing and reconstructing area that were liberated from the Islamic State. The strategic goals of being in Syria does not consist of any long-term stability or reconstruction efforts. Trump does not have a specific date of when the troops will leave instead Trump said that once America’s troops defeat ISIS, Trump wants them to leave immediately. However, by having the troops leave Syria, it leave the Arab allies with a fear that there would be an increase of Iranian influence there.
