The United Kingdom is scheduled to
leave the European Union on March 29th. The Irish government is
worried that the United Kingdom may leave without a settlement. The United Kingdom leaving will impact the economy of Ireland in many ways. Forecasts suggest that
Ireland’s economic growth would take a 4% hit in the long run. For economic reasons,
the Republic of Ireland wants a close relationship with the United Kingdom because of jobs
and success after the United Kingdom leaves the European Union. The Irish government
believes that a no-deal Brexit will be avoided, but is planning for all
possibilities.
