President of Nigeria Suspends Country's Top Judge

Just weeks before a general election, President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria suspended the Chief Justice. This led to an outcry from the opposition party and halting their own campaigning to protest. In an effort to defend himself, the president  tweeted that corruption allegations against Chief Justice Walter Onnoghen are "grievous". Many Nigerians have taken to social media to criticize the president and urge him to reverse his decision.
