CIA agent , Tony Mendez, was pronounced dead on Sunday after a long struggle with Parkinson's disease. Mendez was known for one of the most historic extraction in CIA history. His mission was the inspiration for the movie Argo starring Ben Affleck. This mission was the long process of taking six American diplomats out of Iran in a hostage situation in the late 70s, early 90s. The American people were forced to hid in the Canadian embassy as protestors were taking over the American embassy. This mission was daring as Mendez posed as a film producer and risked his life in order to save these few American's. The mission was successful. Ben Affleck commented saying how thankful he was to have been able to work along side such a great man who in a time of crisis did his duty to his country.
