Missing Ex-Interpol Chief's Wife Wants Asylum in France

Missing Ex-Interpol Chief's Wife Wants Asylum in France

The former President of Interpol went missing in September on a visit to his native China. His wife's last communication with him was a message that read "wait for my call." When the French asked about his whereabouts the Chinese told them he was being investigated for suspected bribery. His wife Grace Meng filed for asylum in France on Friday, saying she is scared for the safety of herself and her children. She claims she has been followed by strangers on the street, has had strange people taking pictures of her license plate, and received calls from unknown people. China has offered to facilitate a call between the husband and wife, but no mention has been made as to whether or not that offer was taken seriously. According to the wife, she's "afraid I may be kidnapped."
