Earlier today, many Macedonians took the streets of the capital to protest the Greek government's deal with Macedonia on changing its name. The name Macedonia holds a lot of historic significance to the Greek as there is a province of that same name within their territory. This new deal would modify the country's current name to "The Republic of North Macedonia." As a result, any rallied to appose this deal that has yet to be approved, which lead to a heated altercation between the protestors and the local forces. BBC reports that "police fired tear gas at some of those attending a protest which attracted tens of thousands to the city."
