CIA Cold-War Spy Pigeons

Are birds real? Could they just be government drones? It appears that the CIA trained pigeons with cameras to fly over selected areas in the Soviet Union to gain intel on the development of submarines. The CIA has also apparently trained dogs, cats, dolphins, cockatoos, Canadian falcons, and ravens... that we know of. Lest us not forget that the government spent approximately three million dollars on shrimp treadmill research. Dolphins were trained to go near Soviet submarines and detect radioactivity. There was research done to see if dogs could be guided or directed where to go by having electrical impulses in their brain. "A previously reported operation called Acoustic Kitty involved placing listening devices inside a cat." In 1967, the CIA spent $600,000 on this animal-spy research. With inflation, that would be about $4.6 million.
