Even
with the withdraw of the extradition bill, the people of Hong Kong are
still not satisfied. How long will these protest last and will Hong Kong
eventually gain the liberty they desire? Hong
Kong’s pro-democracy protests have been going on for four months now
and have been lately reverting to more violent actions. On Saturday the
21st , police forces have been using tear gas and rubber rounds against protestors setting fires in the streets. Then on September 22nd
authorities closed two train stations that lead to Hong Kong’s airport
to protect against further disruption to transportation. Authorities
have also halted several airport bus routes. These actions from the riot
police were in result of protestors destroying surveillance cameras and ticket machines with hammers. More controversially, protestors have been burning Chinese flags and stomping on them.
These ongoing protests are continuing to embarrass the Chinese Communist party.
